Farm Lab is an innovative indoor and outdoor educational campus for all students in the Encinitas Union School District. Students learn Next Generation Science using the DREAMS approach to education and engaging in game-based, experiential science lessons that are centered around nutrition and the environment.
The EUSD Farm Lab site includes:
• An educational campus
• A one-acre hands on educational garden
• Four acres of dedicated fields for growing crops for EUSD school lunches

Mim Michelove, DIRECTOR
As Director of Farm Lab, Mim oversees development of the facilities, farm fields, farm-to-school efforts and educational programs. She also works closely with the Encinitas Union School District's food and nutrition program's director, Lea Bonnelli, researching and planning what to grow, when to grow, and how much to grow.
Mim Michelove is also co-founder of Healthy Day Partners and one of the original members of the District’s Green Team. She became an environmental consultant helping to guide the district towards sound environmental changes and cost saving green efforts which save the district over $500,000 annually.
